I thought when I started this wedding blog, I would put ideas and pictures on here....but I didn't want to give away what the wedding would look like for those attending.

Sooo....after October 24 (which is in 18 days by the way) I will post pictures and all the DIY projects for you other Brides out there planning.

Hello Again

I'm still here....Just been really busy lately.  Sorry for the delay in blogging!  My Aunt Linda was even starting to wonder about me when she hadn't seen a blog post in awhile!  Love you Aunt Linda! :)

Well things are coming right along...104 days to go until we will be hitched!

I have taken a big break in the planning in the past month.  House Hunting and Life just got busy and I didn't have time or was too tired...but now I need to kick it into high gear.

Can't wait to see everything come together.

Engagement Pictures

Oh my!! I love our engagement pictures!! Here is a preview!

The Dress

I found it!!!  Can't wait to share pictures of our wedding day with you!!  Until then...the dress is in hiding.  :)

My friend and bridesmaid Leah came up and we went to the Briar Patch in Fayetteville and I tried it on and it was amazing!  Just the feeling of this is the ONE!  I tried on tons of dresses and this is the only one I didn't want to take off. 

I thought about it all weekend and went back on Tuesday and ordered it.  It will be here in August!!

Rain Rain Go Away!

Can someone please let Mother Nature know that we have engagement pictures on Saturday and would much appreciate if the rain would stop for an afternoon.  

I am praying that the rain holds off long enough for us to take our photos.  It would be really hard to reschedule. Or if the rain would hold off until the end.  I'm not opposed to some rain shots but please at the end not the beginning.

I did find a Maxi dress!!  Thanks to my future sister-in-law!  Mandy and I went shopping on Monday and found a super cute one.  I can't wait to share a few pictures with you as soon as we receive them!

Just in case you were wondering...We are getting married in 163 Days!!  :) :) :)

We are having engagement pictures taken on the 16th of May! I can't wait to meet our photographer and see what she is going to do. She has already mentioned a nice waterfall picture setting.

Now on to what to wear....I am thinking about one of these...

Just have to figure out solid or pattern? Color? What to get Will to match in??

Yummy Cake

I found this cake...Isn't it perfect??? I would like to add some green flowers flowing down one side. I am thinking about taking out the scroll on the middle section and putting our monogram there instead. Thoughts?

Colors

When thinking of colors it was very easy to pick what we wanted.  I wanted Black and White and Will wanted some green so thats how we came to Black and White Damask with a green accent.  Color Scheme:  (We will have white table linens, Damask runners and underlays and green flowers)

Our fabric choice is call Traditions.  We will be making table runners and underlays out of this.

Seen any items around in stores that are Damask??  Leave me a comment and let me know where!

Location, Location, Location

Well this weekend did not turn out to be blessed in the location selection.  We started Saturday morning with seven locations to check out.  Here's how that went:

• Three locations only held 75 people
• One was $3,700!!  with nothing included!
• One had a wedding so we scheduled an appt for Sunday
• One Inn is in the middle of town and the site is loud because of traffic

So on Sunday we visited this quaint little garden/inn.  The ceremony would be held at the Wisteria Arbor.  It was so antique-y and pretty until you started noticing little things.  The only plus is that for the rental cost everything is included! (tables, chairs, location, plates, glasses, silverware, etc..)

Back to square one and running out of locations to look at!  We might be a little picky as well. We would like to find a space that is outside but also has a alternate building in case of rain or where the reception could be held.  We would like to have it all in one place and not ask our guests to drive around.  And most importantly be reasonably priced! So we are asking for a lot!

I should mention that week we looked at a beautiful Garden but was unsure of the people being able to walk around the gardens during the ceremony.  We had a lot of discussion about that today and would really hope that people were respectful of the 20-30 minute ceremony.  I love love love this garden.


and what does the mr. say when I start to get down about finding a location....."wherever you want is fine, the location isn't what matters" :)

Back to the search this week.  We hope to have a location in the next couple of weeks.
